“I’ve had seven kids in RCSD. One left. Three didn’t graduate. I refuse to sit back and watch the last three fail. I don’t give up on kids. I’m rolling up my sleeves and getting to work…”
Heather Feinman has been fighting for services for years, and she’s not stopping now. Every child deserves a chance to thrive, to feel safe, and to dream big.

Ready to Fight for our Kids
Support the Whole Child
Kids can’t learn when they’re hungry, hurt, or unheard. Let’s invest in mental health, safety, and support.
Stronger Schools with Community Help
Programs like Encompass Navigation prove that we need more hands, not fewer. Community partners make schools stronger.
Early Reading & Real Opportunity
If kids can’t read by 3rd grade, they
fall behind fast. We must help them catch up—not give up.
About Heather
Dr. Heather Feinman is a candidate for Rochester School Board.
Heather Feinman is a proud RCSD parent, a boots-on-the-ground advocate, and a champion for Rochester’s families. A mother of three current RCSD students and a community mother to many more, Heather fights every day for language access, LGBTQIA+ student rights, recess and play, mental health services, and educational equity.

Heather has worked with Healthi Kids and Common Ground Health to initiate policy change for children at the local and state level. She’s a Cubmaster, Friend and Family Peer Advocate, and a voice for marginalized families across the city.
Heather believes every child deserves qualified teachers, safe schools, and the resources they need to thrive. We need change — and we need it now.
Vote Heather Feinman for a stronger, more equitable RCSD!

“Heather Feinman has been a dedicated and fearless advocate for children, families, and accessibility. Her passion for building a stronger, more inclusive community shines through in everything she does.”

“Heather has been a fearless advocate for her children and all kids in the city. Over the last decade I have seen her show up and advocate for policies, systems and environmental changes that make things better for kids in the city. From pushing for daily recess, to better support for kids with disabilities, greater ASL access, to play opportunities in neighborhoods, and expanding access to after school supports for kids – she’s been doing it all. If you take away one thing from this recommendation it’s this… Heather is about the kids and will do whatever she can to make sure they are safe and given opportunities to reach their fullest potential.“

When I think of Heather the word INSPIRATION screams in my mind.
My small business hosted and catered a private movie event. Two of our clients planning to attend the event were deaf. Naturally, I needed a skilled ASL translator to help us communicate, this is how I met Heather. That was 2021 (I believe) and I have been watching her soar since.
I’ve never met someone with such selfless drive and perseverance to improve their Community, specifically surrounding our children. I’ve witnessed Heather overcome obstacles to make sure that the children of her Cub Scout Pack have equal experiences as other children regardless of financial factors or necessity for resources. Heather has an uncanny ability to illuminate the room with her passion, showing the importance and urgency of the need, giving others the courage and understanding to get the job done. After all, it takes a village. Every village needs a skillful leader willing to show up for the good of others before themself. We have that in Heather.
When Heather said she was running for School Board, it just made sense to me.

“I’m just going to say it: Heather has been doing the school board’s job for YEARS without the title. I’m a mom, and let me tell you — Heather is exactly who we need fighting for our kids. I’ve watched her show up when it mattered most — pushing for daily recess, better support for kids with disabilities, greater ASL access, safer neighborhoods, more after-school programs — you name it, she’s been in the room demanding better.
Heather doesn’t just talk. She works. She shows up. She pushes.
She’s not running for school board because it’s cute or convenient — she’s running because she’s already been in the fight for our kids, and now she’s ready to take it even further. If you want someone who will move heaven and earth to make sure every kid is safe, seen, and supported — vote for Heather.”
